NHL Bottom 5

27. Detroit Red Wings (13-14-7) [LW: 28]

  • I feel bad including the Wings on this list. The 27th spot is tough because there are clearly four bad teams in the league and then a bunch of mediocrity right above it. The top spot in the bottom five is a revolving door.

28. Florida Panthers (13-16-5) [LW: 30]

  • The Panthers went on a brutal five-game roadie and finished 2-2-1 over the span. However, their two wins were over the Red Wings (OT) and Coyotes.

29. Ottawa Senators (11-14-7) [LW: 29]

  • Ottawa only played two games this past week and split. Craig Anderson shut out the Habs at home, but then fell 4-6 to the Wild.

30. Arizona Coyotes (7-24-5) [LW: 31]

  • Arizona moves up just because I forgot Buffalo last week. They are still really, really bad.

31. Buffalo Sabres (8-19-7) [LW: Forgotten]

  • The Sabres are so bad. I completely forgot about their existence as a franchise last week and left them out of the bottom 5. Wow. My apologies to the Edmonton Oilers who were unjustly ranked in the B5 last week.
